In this New Business Seminar, hosted by The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) you will gain a basic understanding of Wisconsin’s tax laws.
Topics may include:
- Business tax registration
- Withholding tax information
- Sales and use tax information
- Other business taxes
- Electronic filing made easy through My Tax Account
- Business tax incentives
- When do I need a seller’s permit?
- What do I do when I hire my first employee?
- How to register for the MyTax Account
Location: Online (link will be sent to participants shortly before the session date)

Schedule: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Fees: This course is being offered at no cost to participants by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue Speaker’s Bureau. Although there is no charge to attend, participants must register online before the session.
Instructors
Ericka Vazquez Garcia
Ericka Vazquez Garcia is a Bilingual Revenue Agent in the Customer Service Bureau in the business unit. She has been with the Department of Revenue for almost two years. She is a business specialist and assists with income related calls but mainly assists with answering complex questions related to sales and use tax and withholding tax. Ericka is a mom of two and enjoys patio season with wings.
Van Warren
Van Warren is a Business Tax Specialist at the Department of Revenue. I have been with Department of Revenue for 10 years. I enjoy watching my daughter play volleyball for UW-Stevens Point, camping and reading.
