Honoring Our Heroes: Service Activities for 9/11 Day

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 

HONORING OUR VETERANS 

Volunteers are invited to participate in three meaningful days of service: 

Tuesday, September 8 Join active members of the National Guard in restoring veterans’ headstones. 

Friday, September 11 Attend a remembrance ceremony with Secretary Bond, followed by the assembly of care packages for first responders. 

Saturday, September 12 Help clean and restore veterans’ headstones, followed by a closing honor ceremony. The program will recognize 28 veterans whose service spans from the Civil War through the Berlin Crisis—including Silver Star recipient Dan Busch, whose story was portrayed in Black Hawk Down. Volunteers and community members are encouraged to participate.
