Watertown Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Unveiling

Back in September 2025, Watertown’s Veterans organizations came together to begin fundraising for a traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to be permanently installed at Aero Park. This was no small undertaking—the project totaled $400,000. Thanks to the incredible support of local businesses, community groups, and residents, we are now very close to reaching that goal. The organizations also coordinated the Wall’s transport from Texas. A special note of pride for our community: the creator of the Wall was originally from Watertown. Once installed, this will be the only permanent Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in the Midwest.

Groundbreaking and the initial concrete pour took place in November, even as fundraising continued. This has become one of the largest concrete projects the City of Watertown has completed—accomplished in less than six months. The Wall is currently in storage and ready for installation as final concrete work is completed.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will be officially unveiled and open to the public on Memorial Day.  More information will be posted periodically.  For now, PLEASE SAVE THE DATE!
